Ingredients

  • 2 cups of mushrooms sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or dried
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice optional

Method

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add mushrooms, thyme, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms are golden and tender.
  4. Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  5. Serve hot as a side dish.

Notes

You can use any type of mushrooms—button, cremini, or even shiitake. The key is to cook them until golden to bring out the full flavor.
