1tspcumin
½tspsmoked paprika
1tbspfresh parsleychopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil for cooking
Burger buns and desired toppingslettuce, tomato, pickles, etc.
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped mushrooms, mashed black beans, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, cumin, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Mix thoroughly and form the mixture into 4 even patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and firm.
Toast the burger buns and assemble with your preferred toppings.
Notes
These burgers can also be baked at 375°F for about 20 minutes for a healthier option. Make sure the patties are firm enough to hold together while cooking; if needed, add extra breadcrumbs.
