Ingredients
500
g
1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and halved
3
tbsp
unsalted butter
2
tbsp
olive oil
4
garlic cloves
minced
1
tsp
fresh thyme leaves
or ½ tsp dried thyme
Salt and black pepper
to taste
1
tbsp
chopped parsley
for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Mushrooms:
Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth or rinse briefly, then pat them dry. Halve or quarter them if large.
Heat the Pan:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat until the butter melts and begins to bubble.
Sauté the Mushrooms:
Add the mushrooms to the pan, stirring occasionally. Cook for 5-7 minutes until they release their moisture and start to brown.
Add Garlic and Herbs:
Stir in the minced garlic and thyme. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting the garlic become fragrant without burning.
Season and Garnish:
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Sprinkle with parsley just before serving for a fresh, vibrant finish.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a mix of butter and ghee.
This dish tastes best fresh but can be reheated in a skillet over low heat.
